Who We Are

Orchard is a modern European restaurant at 136 Askew Road in Shepherd's Bush, West London. We opened with a simple brief: serve food that reflects the season honestly, in a room where people feel comfortable staying for as long as they like. That hasn't changed.

The name comes from the core idea behind the cooking. An orchard produces something different in each season — you get what the year offers, not what a static menu dictates. We try to apply that thinking to everything we serve. The menu is short because it only contains what we're confident about at any given time. It changes because the seasons do.

We're an independent restaurant. We don't have investors telling us what to put on the menu or how quickly to turn the tables. That independence lets us cook the way we think food should be cooked — with patience, with good ingredients, and without shortcuts.

Our Approach to Cooking

We build the menu around what's genuinely in season and what our suppliers have that's worth celebrating. The whole roasted chicken that appears in various forms through autumn and winter is sourced from a small farm. The vegetables that show up in our salads and sides change week to week. The bread is made in-house. None of this is marketing language — it's just how the kitchen works.

Brunch gets the same attention as dinner. The ricotta hotcakes change their fruit accompaniment with the season. The eggs come from a producer we know. The coffee is roasted by a small independent. These are small things individually, but they add up to a meal that tastes like care went into it — because it did.
